Instructor Bios

Nathan Moore, lead Instructor

Born in Albequerque, New Mexico, Nathan Moore was the original lead instructor, and a key developer of the curriculum at L.A. Stunts Training Center. He is an elite level gymnast and a parkour artist, with an extensive coaching background. He has worked as a stunt man on projects like “Hometeam”, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”, “Mazerunner”, and “American Horror Story”. He graduated from film school at the University of New Mexico. In addition to stunts, he also works in the camera department.

Jeffrey Mayfield, lead instructor

Jeffrey has been working as a stunt performer since 2014. He grew up in California, and got his start as a competitive fencer before working in live stunt shows at Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios and Busch Gardens. He made his transition to film and television work in 2016. He has developed specialties in high falls, air ram, fire burns, and bladed combat. He has been with L.A. Stunts since moving to Atlanta in 2018 and has worked on projects such as “American Soul”, “Legacies”, “The Righteous Gemstones”, “Raising Dion”, and “Scream 5”.  

Sarah Ekstrand, instructor/Operations Manager

Sarah grew up in Illinois, and has her B.A. in Dance from Columbia College Chicago. Sarah began pursuing stunts in 2017 and earned her SAG-AFTRA in 2022. She is a published model, and was a finalist in the modeling reality show “Local Ambition”. She originally attended L.A. Stunts as a student, and stayed on as an instructor after graduating. She has been teaching kickboxing for over 5 years and has an extensive background in arts management. She has developed dance and theatre after school programs at various Chicago Public schools, children’s year round and summer programs at Columbia College Chicago, and helped manage and event plan for a breaking company in Chicago.
