Recently I finished a week long Stunt Boot Camp and after my experience if you are considering training with L.A. Stunts all I can say is -- Just Do It!! Your investment will more than pay for itself. If you are already a working stunt person, I promise you, you will quickly realize how much your skills need improving. I did! I wish I could have done this at the beginning of my career. How else can you get actual working stunt coordinators to help you learn so many stunts from the ground up, especially stunts that require very expensive equipment that most of us do not have access to for training? Mike and Shelby and their instructors give constant positive feedback and let you know exactly what needs improvement and how to fix it, as well as what your strong points are. They cover all the essentials and more, from tumbling and fighting for camera to high falls, air rams, car hits, and more, including overall film performance and set etiquette. After a week, I still have work ahead of me on a number of the skills we worked on, but now I know how to practice them in a step-by-step, safe way with proper technique. I have a renewed confidence in my skills and know that when I am called to perform a stunt on set I will be ready to deliver. If you are not already working as a stunt performer, this training is the perfect introduction and starting point for developing stunt skills that will get you hired and the acquiring knowledge to keep yourself safe, as well as teaching you how to be a consummate professional on set. This training is in a word, invaluable. Mike and Shelby have so much knowledge and experience in the stunt profession to share, and a week just scratches the surface of what they have to offer. But in this week, they and their instructors become family in what is too often a very cut-throat world, which is priceless. Again, if you are reading this and debating whether or not to train with L.A. Stunts, Just Do It!!

As a working professional actor and former martial arts champion, I absolutely recommend this borderline insane week of stunt introduction at the L.A. Stunts "Stunt Boot Camp" to anybody, from athletes to actors, who would like to gain the essential skills and learn hands on about how to become a successful stunt performer. This "crash course" was not only insanely fun but wildly informative. It isn't often you have the opportunity to learn so much in such a concise fashion from professionals of this caliber. Thank you Mike, Shelby, and Nate!

Recently I attended the L.A. Stunts Stunt Boot Camp in Louisiana, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! Not only were Mike and Shelby professional, informative, and safety-conscious, they were friendly and compassionate, as well. Several months after they trained me, I landed a job as a stunt double on a film shooting in Boston and got my SAG card! Shelby and Mike’s sound advice about getting started in the business and continued guidance and support played an important role in my getting started so quickly. Not only that, the film’s stunt coordinator told me he was very happy with my stunt skills and said to let his friends Mike and Shelby know that they taught me well! Apparently I also impressed the director, who stood up and applauded after I did a car hit, then came over to shake my hand, saying he was extremely pleased with the footage he got! I was so happy that I had learned from L.A. Stunts how to do car hits without actually getting hurt! I am so grateful for the training I received at L.A. Stunts Stunt Boot Camp and would highly recommend the program to anyone interested in pursuing stunts as a career.

My name is Mike Sharrer, and I am a former Marine, a Personal Trainer, and a Professional Wrestler. My wife Tracy and I recently completed the Stunt Boot Camp offered by L.A. Stunts. Being a professional wrestler for the last 10 years I have been around a lot of cut throat people and people who could care less about you, so working with people who are genuinely concerned about your well being and success like Mike and Shelby has been a pleasure. Training to be comfortable with flips, falls, and stunts on cue for camera is both physically and mentally challenging, but with safety always the main concern and guiding you step by step, Mike, Shelby, and their excellent instructors make sure you get the most out of their stunt training. If you are looking to become a stunt professional L.A. Stunts is absolutely the place to learn. Mike and Shelby really know their stuff and are the total package. I would recommend L.A. Stunts to anyone and everyone who thinks they have what it takes to make it in the stunt or stunt acting world. I would like to thank Mike Long, Shelby Swatek and their team, especially Nathan Moore, for all the hard work and help they gave to my wife Tracy and myself this past week. We are excited and proud to be a part of the L.A Stunts family. We hope to see you again soon, Aloha!

A veteran Hollywood stuntman friend recommended the training offered by Mike and Shelby of L.A. Stunts. I went through their Stunt Boot Camp a little over a year ago, and it has turned out to be a great foundation for my stunt career. I had no experience in the film industry or knowledge of the stunt business when I first trained with Mike and Shelby, though I have been extremely athletic my whole life. Recently I worked on a big budget movie doing a complex fight scene, and the stunt coordinator said that he was very pleased and impressed with my performance. He said he hadn’t expected that level of performance from someone so new to the business. More than excellent instructors, Mike and Shelby have become my friends and mentors, and I don’t hesitate to call them for advice ranging from what to do at an audition to where to get my next stunt pads. Mike and Shelby truly care about their students, and their help and teaching continues long after the class is over. Their training has proved a great start for an enjoyable and challenging career in stunts.

I had an opportunity to attend the L.A. Stunts Stunt Boot Camp in 2010. I had already worked as a stunt performer on several shows prior to attending the training, but I wanted to learn more. Mike and Shelby were excellent instructors. Their experience in the industry is impressive and their dedication to all the students in the class was obvious from the very first day. Mike and Shelby told all the students that we were now "part of the family" and offered us her assistance anytime we needed it in the future. They have, on many occasions, kept that promise to me! I highly recommend Mike and Shelby and all the instructors at the L.A. Stunts Stunt Boot Camp. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Hi Mike and Shelby!
Thanks to both of you and Marian Green I did end up going to the audition for the Indiana Jones show at Hollywood Studios in February, and they offered me a role. I was offered an on-call position, which actually works out really well for me, since I didn't have to relocate to Orlando. I trained for six weeks, and now I just do the show whenever I'm called in, which so far has been about once a month. I LOVE doing the show, and I LOVE working for Disney!!! My punches have also improved greatly, as you can imagine. ;) I know that having high falls on my resumé was a real plus at the audition, so thanks again for all the training. I'm also attaching my most current resumé. Please keep me on file in case you can ever use me for anything! Hope you are both doing well. Best Wishes!

Hey Shelby and Mike,
Things are great here in China! I am one of only 4 drivers in the show. Nothing too crazy just 180's and drifts. We do occasionally get to take the cars to our training lot and play. I am jumping jet skis now, diving, and sliding motorcycles through fire. I am set to return to the US in April. I am waiting to hear if I will be doubling Max Thieriot again. I doubled him on "Yellow" and he is gearing up for a political thriller TV pilot. Fingers crossed! Thanks to you and Michael helping me get my SAG card. I have mentioned L.A. Stunts to some of the guys here who want to make the switch from live action to film and suggested they look into training with you. Hope things are well I keep following the crew on IMDb to see what projects you all are working on now.
Take care and stay safe.

Stunt Industry Recommended Training
Over the past year, Michael and Shelby have been running their professional stunt training programs at Celtic Media Centre, and I have seen firsthand the expertise and care they bring to each session, teaching everything from fights to high falls to actors and stunt performers from all over the country. Michael and Shelby have the experience and screen credits for stunt coordinating, including teaching actors stunt skills they can safely perform on camera. Their extensive knowledge of stunts and stunt safety, professionalism, and state-of-the-art line of stunt equipment would make Michael and Shelby an asset to any production.

There are now some great training schools for stunts. In my day, there were on the school of hard knocks. Uncle Gene LeBell mentored me and turned me over to some great stunt coordinators and I just kept learning and I'm still learning. However, you can cut a lot of corners now by enrolling in some good stunt schools. One I would highly recommend is my dear friend, Mike Long's, LA Stunts Training Center. For driving, Bobby Ore and Rick Seaman offer excellent programs. I'm sure there are other schools out there, but I can only recommend the professionals that I have personally worked with.

Jessica Kampling Stunt Boot Camp Graduate
Jessica Was a Stunt Driver Double for Abigail Victor On "Teenage Dragonslayer" and Earned Her SAG Card
My name is Jessica Kampling and I attended the L.A. Stunts Training Centerís January 2009 Boot Camp. Hands down this is the best thing I could have ever done for myself and my new career. Not only did it give me the tools I need to succeed in my new career as a stuntwoman, it also made me physically and mentally stronger. The staff at L.A. Stunts is amazing! The facility is top notch, stocked with everything needed to train someone who is interested in this line of work. Professionalism and safety are top priorities amongst the stunt coordinators and trainers.
Going into something this extreme was a little intimidating at first, but everyone made me feel very secure and protected. The staff is very experienced and will not let anyone attempt something that they are unsure of in anyway, whether the technique of the student needs improvement or the student is just uncomfortable for whatever reason. Nothing is pushed on you, and everything happens at a steady pace for each individual and their own unique way of learning. Everything is organized in a way to where you learn by taking progressive steps and building confidence, rather than just jumping into it. Not only did I learn stunt tumbling, mini tramp, trampoline, fighting for camera, squib hits, low and high falls, ratchets, car hits, near misses and weapons handling, I also learned film set terminology, how to know my limits, set etiquette, how to get a SAG card, marketing for stunt people, and working with coordinators. All of this valuable training and information was all given to me in just one Stunt Boot Camp session.
I am still in awe over my whole experience and will never forget how much fun it was. Whether you are brand new to the industry like me or are a current stunt person looking to further your ability, I highly recommend L.A. Stunts to do the job!The staff was so kind and patient it was an absolute joy to be in their presence. I made lifelong friends and improved myself as an individual thanks to Mike and Shelby! Sincerely,
